TRACK TWO WORKS TO PROMOTE
INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING

With current projects with Russia, the Middle East and China, TRACK TWO, a nonprofit Institute for Citizen Diplomacy associated with Esalen Institute, addresses problems and opportunities shared by the peoples of diverse regions of the globe.

TRACK TWO, formerly The Russian-American Center, has worked with the Soviet Union and Russia for more than 36 years through interactions between governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as individuals of these countries.  The result of this work was a greater understanding of culture, politics and shared vision.

The term “Track Two Diplomacy” was coined in 1980 at Esalen Institute. Track Two Diplomacy complements government diplomacy through non-governmental activities of individuals and organizations, bringing fresh insights and lasting inter-cultural friendships on a wide range of international problems.
